Chartering a Club

What is Chartering?

Chartering is the University’s process for a club/organization to be recognized by the University. Here are some of the benefits of being a chartered club/organization at SSU:

  • A mailbox in the Student Involvement Office on the 2nd floor of the Student Center

  • Police Services for on campus events with more than 100 guests

  • Banking services through Associated Students

  • Access to funding through Associated Students

  • Reserving space on campus

  • Participation in campus-wide club events (Involvement Fairs, Big Nite, Club Week)

All clubs/organizations are required to charter annually through the Student Involvement office in order to stay recognized. Please contact the Student Involvement office at or come visit us on the 2nd Floor of the Student Center for more information.
